Ohhh yes 😎
Here’s a fall-off-the-bone spare ribs recipe that works whether you finish them in the oven or on the grill.
🍖 Tender Spare Ribs (Oven or Grill)
Ingredients
- 2 racks pork spare ribs
- Salt & black pepper
Dry rub
- 2 tsp paprika
- 2 tsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Optional: cayenne or chili powder
Optional glaze
- BBQ sauce, honey, or maple syrup
Instructions
1. Prep
- Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs (important).
- Pat dry, season generously with rub.
- Wrap tightly in foil.
2. Slow bake (guaranteed tenderness)
- Bake at 300°F / 150°C for 2½–3 hours.
3. Finish (pick one)
- Oven broil: Unwrap, brush with BBQ sauce, broil 5–8 min until sticky.
- Grill: Finish over medium heat 5–10 min, turning once.
How to know they’re done
- Meat pulls back from the bones
- Knife slides in easily
- Rack bends easily when lifted
Flavor upgrades
- Add a splash of apple juice or beer inside the foil
- Mix BBQ sauce with honey or brown sugar for extra glaze
- Finish with a light dust of dry rub after glazing
If you want:
- Asian-style sticky ribs
- Dry-rub only (no sauce)
- Slow-cooker or Instant Pot ribs
