Smoked sausage and corn in a slow cooker

Posted on April 8, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple and flavorful slow cooker recipe with smoked sausage and corn—perfect for an easy meal:

🌽 Ingredients

  • 3–4 smoked sausages, sliced
  • 3–4 ears of corn, cut into 2–3 inch pieces (or 2 cups frozen corn)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped (optional)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (400g)
  • 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • Salt, pepper, paprika, or Cajun seasoning to taste

🍲 Instructions

  1. Add sausages, corn, onion, garlic, bell pepper, tomatoes, and broth to the slow cooker.
  2. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika (or your favorite seasoning).
  3. Cover and cook:
    • Low: 6–7 hours
    • High: 3–4 hours
  4. Stir occasionally if possible. Taste and adjust seasoning before serving.

💡 Tips

  • For extra flavor, brown the sausage slices in a pan before adding to the slow cooker.
  • Add fresh herbs like parsley or thyme at the end.
  • Can serve over rice, potatoes, or with crusty bread.

✅ Benefits of this dish:

  • Easy one-pot meal with minimal cleanup
  • Balanced protein (sausage) and fiber (corn and veggies)
  • Can adjust for low-sodium or lower-fat diets using lean sausage or reduced-salt broth
