Slow cooker rice pudding

Slow cooker rice pudding is a creamy, comforting dessert where rice slowly cooks in milk and sugar until soft and rich. Using a slow cooker makes it easy because you don’t need to stir it constantly. 🍚🥛


Ingredients

  • ¾ cup rice (short-grain or Arborio works best)
  • 4 cups milk
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup raisins (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease the slow cooker with butter.
  2. Add rice, milk, sugar, salt, and cinnamon to the slow cooker.
  3. Stir everything together.
  4. Cook on LOW for 2½–3 hours, stirring once or twice if possible.
  5. When rice is tender and creamy, stir in vanilla and raisins.
  6. Serve warm or chilled.

Tips for Creamy Rice Pudding

  • Use whole milk for a richer texture.
  • Stir once during cooking to prevent sticking.
  • If it gets too thick, add a little warm milk before serving.

  • Extra cinnamon or nutmeg
  • Fresh fruit (berries, mango, banana)
  • Honey or maple syrup
  • Chopped nuts like walnuts or almonds
