Slow cooker cabbage

Here’s a simple and healthy way to make slow cooker cabbage, perfect for an easy meal:


🥬 Ingredients

  • 1 medium cabbage, chopped
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 carrots, sliced (optional)
  • 1 cup vegetable or chicken broth
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (or 1 cup tomato sauce)
  • Salt, pepper, and spices (paprika, thyme, or caraway seeds)
  • Optional: 200–300g lean ground meat (beef, chicken, or turkey)

🍲 Instructions

  1. Place cabbage, onion, garlic, and carrots in the slow cooker.
  2. Add broth and tomatoes. Season with salt, pepper, and your choice of spices.
  3. If using meat, brown it first and add on top of the vegetables.
  4. Cover and cook:
    • Low: 6–8 hours
    • High: 3–4 hours
  5. Stir occasionally if possible. Serve hot.

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of vinegar or lemon juice at the end.
  • This dish freezes well—great for meal prep.
