  • 2 slices bread (white, sourdough, or sandwich bread)

Instructions

  1. Butter the bread
    • Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice.
  2. Assemble
    • Place one slice, butter-side down, in a cold skillet.
    • Add cheese.
    • Top with the second slice, butter-side up.
  3. Cook low & slow
    • Cook over medium-low heat for 3–4 minutes per side.
    • Press gently and flip when golden brown.
    • Cheese should be fully melted by the time bread is crispy.
  4. Serve
    • Slice and enjoy immediately.
