Ah, Garlic Herb Sourdough Bread Stuffed with Brie and Cranberry Sauce 🥖🧀🍒 — a show-stopping appetizer or party bread that’s ooey, gooey, and packed with flavor. Perfect for the holidays or any gathering! Here’s a detailed recipe:

🥖 Garlic Herb Sourdough Bread Stuffed with Brie & Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients (serves 6–8)

  • 1 large round sourdough loaf
  • 8 oz (225 g) Brie cheese, sliced or cut into chunks
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary (or fresh, finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp dried thyme (or fresh)
  • Optional: 1 tbsp chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • Preheat to 350°F / 175°C.
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the bread
    • Slice the top off the sourdough loaf and hollow out the center, leaving about a 1-inch border all around.
    • Optional: keep the removed bread pieces for dipping later.
  3. Make garlic herb butter
    • In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, rosemary, and thyme.
  4. Assemble
    • Brush the inside of the hollowed loaf with half of the garlic herb butter.
    • Layer Brie chunks evenly inside the bread.
    • Spoon cranberry sauce over the Brie.
    • Replace the bread “lid” and brush the top with the remaining garlic herb butter.
  5. Bake
    • Wrap the loaf loosely in aluminum foil and bake 15 minutes.
    • Remove foil and bake another 10–15 minutes until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden.
  6. Serve
    • Transfer to a serving plate, sprinkle with parsley if desired, and serve warm.
    • Slice into wedges for sharing.

Pro Tips

  • Cheese choice: Brie is creamy and mild, but Camembert or triple-cream cheeses also work well.
  • Cranberry sauce: Sweet-tart works best to balance the richness of the cheese.
  • Optional add-ins: Add chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts) or fresh herbs inside for extra texture.
  • Dipping: Serve with extra cranberry sauce, honey, or mustard for dipping.
