Fried mushrooms

Posted on January 14, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple way to make crispy, flavorful fried mushrooms 🍄✨

Ingredients (Serves 2–3)

  • 12–16 oz (350–450 g) mushrooms (button, cremini, or your choice), cleaned and sliced
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika (optional, for flavor)
  • 1–2 eggs, beaten
  • ½–¾ cup breadcrumbs (plain or panko for extra crispiness)
  • Oil for frying (vegetable, canola, or sunflower)

Instructions

1. Prepare the mushrooms

  • Clean mushrooms with a damp cloth or paper towel.
  • Slice if large; leave small ones whole.

2. Bread the mushrooms

  1. Mix flour, salt, pepper, and paprika in a shallow bowl.
  2. Place beaten eggs in another bowl.
  3. Place breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  4. Dredge mushrooms: flour → egg → breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to coat.

3. Fry

  1. Heat ½ inch of oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Fry mushrooms in batches 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Drain on paper towels.

4. Serve

  • Serve hot with ranch, garlic aioli, or spicy mayo.
  • Garnish with parsley if desired.

Tips & Variations

  • Extra crispy: Use panko breadcrumbs.
  • Flavor boost: Add grated Parmesan, garlic powder, or dried herbs to the breadcrumbs.
  • Air-fryer version: 375°F / 190°C for 10–12 minutes, shaking halfway.
  • Spicy twist: Add cayenne or chili powder to flour or breadcrumbs.

If you want, I can give a “restaurant-style ultra-crispy fried mushrooms” recipe with double coating and garlic butter drizzle that’s addictive.

Do you want me to do that version?
