Instructions

  1. Cook pasta: Boil spaghetti according to package directions. Reserve ½ cup pasta water before draining.
  2. Make sauce: In the same pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic, sauté 30 sec until fragrant.
  3. Add cream cheese: Lower heat slightly, stir in cream cheese until melted. Slowly add reserved pasta water (or milk) to make a smooth sauce.
  4. Combine: Add drained spaghetti to the sauce, tossing to coat evenly. Stir in Parmesan.
  5. Season: Salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Optional: Add cooked chicken, bacon, or sautéed vegetables. Garnish with parsley or red pepper flakes.
