Banana pudding

🍎 Apple Crisp is a classic dessert featuring sweet, tender baked apples topped with a crunchy, buttery oat topping. It’s warm, comforting, and perfect with ice cream or whipped cream.


🧾 Ingredients

Filling:

  • 6 cups peeled, sliced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Topping:

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cut into small pieces

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the Filling
    • Toss sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and vanilla.
    • Spread evenly in a greased 9×9-inch baking dish.
  3. Make the Topping
    • In a bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
    • Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Assemble & Bake
    • Sprinkle topping evenly over apples.
    • Bake 40–45 minutes until apples are tender and topping is golden brown.
  5. Serve
    • Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

💡 Tips

  • Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for more depth of flavor.
  • For extra crunch, add chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts to the topping.
  • Can be prepared ahead and baked just before serving.
