Here’s a quick guide to cooking bacon perfectly 🥓

Stovetop Method (Classic & Crispy)

  1. Pan
    Place bacon strips in a cold skillet. Don’t overlap.
  2. Cook
    Turn heat to medium. Cook 8–12 minutes, flipping occasionally, until crispy or desired doneness.
  3. Drain
    Transfer to paper towels to absorb excess grease.

Oven Method (Less Mess)

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).
    Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment.
  2. Arrange bacon in a single layer.
  3. Bake 15–20 minutes, depending on thickness.
  4. Drain on paper towels.

Microwave Method (Quickest)

  1. Layer 2–3 paper towels on a microwave-safe plate.
  2. Place bacon strips on towels (don’t overlap). Cover with another paper towel.
  3. Cook 3–6 minutes, checking after 3 minutes, until crispy.

Tips

  • Thicker bacon takes longer but is juicier.
  • Save bacon grease for frying eggs, potatoes, or vegetables.
  • For even crispier bacon in the oven, place a wire rack on the baking sheet so grease drips away.
