Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 4–6 boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Sauce

  • ΒΌ cup brown sugar
  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Β½ tsp black pepper
  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375Β°F / 190Β°C.
  2. Season chicken with salt and pepper.
  3. Sear chicken: Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken 2–3 minutes per side until lightly browned.
  4. Make sauce: Mix brown sugar, garlic, soy sauce, vinegar, paprika, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Bake:
    • Place chicken in a baking dish.
    • Pour sauce evenly over chicken.
    • Bake uncovered 25–30 minutes (thighs) or 20–25 minutes (breasts), basting once halfway.
  6. Serve: Spoon extra sauce over chicken before serving.

  • Thighs = juicier, but breasts work great too.
  • Sticky finish: Broil 2–3 minutes at the end for caramelized edges.
