Sweet, chewy, and crunchyāturtle candies are easy to make at home and donāt need baking.
Ingredients (makes ~12ā15 candies)
- 1 cup pecan halves
- 12 soft caramels (or ½ cup caramel sauce)
- 1 tbsp milk or cream (if melting caramels)
- 1 cup chocolate chips (milk or semi-sweet)
Instructions
- Prepare pecans:
- Line a tray with parchment paper.
- Arrange 3ā4 pecan halves in small clusters (like little turtle legs).
- Melt caramel:
- Microwave caramels with milk/cream in short bursts, stirring until smooth.
- Spoon caramel over each pecan cluster.
- Melt chocolate:
- Melt chocolate chips in the microwave or over a double boiler until smooth.
- Assemble turtles:
- Spoon melted chocolate over the caramel, covering most of it.
- Set:
- Let candies cool at room temperature or refrigerate 15ā20 minutes until firm.
