Here’s a simple, old-fashioned Sweet Milk Fudge Squares recipe—rich, creamy, and perfect for cutting into small treats 🧈🍬

🍫 Sweet Milk Fudge Squares

Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional add-ins: chopped nuts, coconut, or peanut butter swirl

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pan
    • Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper or lightly butter it.
  2. Cook the Fudge
    • In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, milk, butter, and salt.
    • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a rolling boil.
    • Continue boiling 5–6 minutes, stirring so it doesn’t scorch.
  3. Finish
    • Remove from heat.
    • Stir in vanilla (and any add-ins if using).
    • Beat with a wooden spoon for about 1–2 minutes until slightly thick and glossy.
  4. Set
    • Pour quickly into prepared pan and smooth the top.
    • Let cool completely at room temperature.
  5. Cut & Serve
    • Cut into squares once fully set.

Tips

  • Don’t overcook—too long will make the fudge grainy.
  • For chocolate milk fudge, add ¼ cup cocoa powder with the sugar.
  • Store covered at room temperature or refrigerate for firmer squares.
