stuffing balls.

Posted on January 1, 2026 by Admin

Ah, stuffing balls—aka little bites of herby, savory goodness! They’re basically baked balls of your favorite stuffing, perfect as a side or appetizer. Here’s a straightforward recipe.

Ingredients (makes ~12–15 balls)

  • 4 cups leftover stuffing (or prepared stuffing mix, cooked)
  • 1 large egg (to bind)
  • ¼ cup chicken or vegetable broth (optional, for moisture)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (optional, for flavor)
  • Fresh parsley or herbs (optional, for extra flavor)
  • Cooking spray or a little oil for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven:
    • 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking sheet or line with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the mixture:
    • In a large bowl, combine stuffing with the egg, melted butter, and herbs.
    • If the stuffing feels too dry, add a tablespoon or two of broth. It should hold together when rolled into balls.
  3. Form balls:
    • Using your hands, roll stuffing into 1.5–2 inch balls.
  4. Bake:
    • Place balls on the prepared baking sheet.
    • Bake 20–25 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden and slightly crispy on the outside.
  5. Serve:
    • Hot out of the oven as a side dish or appetizer. Optional: drizzle with a little melted butter or gravy.

💡 Tips:

  • You can add extras to the mixture: cooked sausage, chopped onions, cranberries, or shredded cheese.
  • If you want a crispier outside, brush with a little extra butter before baking.
  • These can also be made ahead and frozen; just bake from frozen, adding ~5–10 minutes to the cook time.

If you want, I can also give a super-easy 15-minute microwave or air fryer version that’s quick and still tasty.

Do you want me to do that?
