Stuffed peppers

🫑 Stuffed Peppers (Easy & Flavorful)

Colorful bell peppers filled with a savory mixture—perfect for a balanced meal.


Ingredients (4 servings)

  • 4 large bell peppers (any color)
  • 400 g ground beef, turkey, or chicken
  • ½ cup cooked rice
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika or Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: 180°C / 350°F.
  2. Prepare peppers:
    • Cut tops off peppers and remove seeds.
    • Lightly oil a baking dish and place peppers upright.
  3. Make filling:
    • Heat oil in a pan. Cook onion and garlic until soft.
    • Add ground meat and cook until browned.
    • Stir in rice, salt, pepper, seasoning, and half of the tomato sauce.
  4. Stuff peppers:
    • Fill each pepper with the meat mixture.
    • Spoon remaining tomato sauce on top.
  5. Bake:
    • Cover with foil and bake 30 minutes.
    • Remove foil, add cheese if using, and bake 10–15 minutes more.
  6. Serve:
    • Let cool slightly and enjoy.

Tips

  • Swap rice for quinoa or couscous for variety.
  • Make it vegetarian with beans, lentils, or chopped mushrooms.
  • Add herbs or a pinch of chili flakes for extra flavor 🌿🌶️
