Spaghetti with meat sauce

Here’s a **simple, classic spaghetti with meat sauce** recipe 🍝

### Ingredients (serves ~4)

* 12 oz (340 g) spaghetti
* 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (or ground turkey)
* 1 small onion, diced
* 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
* 1 can (24 oz / 680 g) crushed tomatoes
* 2 tbsp tomato paste
* 1 tbsp olive oil
* 1 tsp dried oregano
* 1 tsp dried basil
* Salt & pepper, to taste
* Optional: a pinch of sugar, red pepper flakes
* Optional topping: grated Parmesan cheese

### Instructions

1. **Cook spaghetti**
Boil pasta in well-salted water according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

2. **Make the sauce**
Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
Add onion and cook 3–4 minutes until soft.
Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.

3. **Brown the meat**
Add ground meat, breaking it up. Cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.

4. **Simmer**
Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
Simmer uncovered for 15–25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Taste and adjust seasoning.

5. **Serve**
Spoon sauce over spaghetti and top with Parmesan.
