Scrambled eggs

Posted on January 17, 2026 by Admin

Scrambled Eggs are a classic and versatile dish, perfect for breakfast, lunch, or even dinner. They’re quick and easy to make, and you can customize them with a variety of mix-ins like cheese, herbs, or vegetables.

Here’s a basic recipe for making soft, fluffy scrambled eggs:

Basic Scrambled Eggs Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk or cream (optional, for creaminess)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for cooking)

Optional Add-ins:

  • Cheese (cheddar, feta, goat cheese, or any variety)
  • Herbs (chives, parsley, dill)
  • Veggies (tomato, spinach, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers)
  • Meats (ham, bacon bits, sausage)

Instructions:

1. Crack and whisk the eggs:

  • Crack the eggs into a bowl.
  • Add a splash of milk or cream (this is optional but helps make the eggs fluffier and creamier).
  • Whisk the eggs together for about 30 seconds until fully combined and slightly frothy. The more you whisk, the fluffier the eggs will be.
  • Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

2. Heat the pan:

  • Place a nonstick skillet or frying pan on the stove over medium-low to medium heat.
  • Add butter to the pan. Let it melt, but make sure it doesn’t brown or burn.

3. Cook the eggs:

  • Pour the whisked eggs into the pan once the butter has melted and is slightly bubbling.
  • Let the eggs sit undisturbed for a few moments until they just start to set around the edges.
  • Use a spatula to gently stir the eggs from the edges to the center, creating soft folds. Continue stirring gently, allowing the eggs to cook evenly.
  • For soft, creamy eggs, don’t overcook them. Remove them from the pan when they’re still slightly runny, as they’ll continue cooking from residual heat.

4. Serve:

  • Once the eggs are cooked to your liking, immediately transfer them to a plate. They’ll be creamy and soft if cooked properly.
  • Optional: Top with any add-ins like shredded cheese, fresh herbs, or chopped veggies for extra flavor.

Tips for Perfect Scrambled Eggs:

  • Low and slow: Cooking your scrambled eggs over low to medium heat ensures they cook gently, which keeps them soft and creamy.
  • Use a nonstick skillet: This helps prevent the eggs from sticking and makes cleanup easier.
  • Don’t overcook: Scrambled eggs should be soft and slightly creamy, so be careful not to leave them in the pan for too long. Remove them just before they’re fully set.
  • Whisk well: The more you whisk, the fluffier the eggs will turn out. It helps incorporate air into the eggs.
  • Butter vs. Oil: While butter gives a rich, creamy taste, you can use oil or ghee for a slightly different texture or if you’re looking for a dairy-free option.

Variations:

  • Cheesy Scrambled Eggs: Stir in some shredded cheddar, mozzarella, or feta cheese just before the eggs are fully cooked.
  • Vegetable Scramble: Add diced onions, tomatoes, spinach, or mushrooms to the pan while the eggs cook, or sauté them first in butter and then add the eggs.
  • Bacon or Sausage Scramble: Cook crispy bacon or crumbled sausage and stir it into the scrambled eggs for added protein and flavor.
  • Herbed Scrambled Eggs: Add fresh chives, parsley, or dill to the eggs after cooking for a fresh, vibrant flavor.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Toast: Serve with buttered toast or avocado toast for a hearty breakfast.
  • Potatoes: Pair with roasted potatoes or hash browns for a filling brunch.
  • Salad: A light green salad with a simple vinaigrette works well as a side.

Scrambled eggs are a blank canvas, so feel free to get creative! Whether you keep them simple or load them with toppings, they’re always delicious. Let me know if you need more variations or ideas!
