Ingredients

  • 1 lb smoked sausage or kielbasa, sliced
  • 1Β½ lbs potatoes, diced (Yukon gold or red work great)
  • 1 can (14–16 oz) sauerkraut, drained (rinse lightly if you want it milder)
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter or oil
  • Β½ cup chicken broth or water
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Optional: 1 tsp caraway seeds or paprika

Stovetop Instructions

  1. Heat butter/oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Brown sausage slices, then remove and set aside.
  3. Add potatoes and onion; cook 5–7 minutes, stirring.
  4. Add sauerkraut, broth, seasoning, and sausage back in.
  5. Cover and simmer 20–25 minutes until potatoes are tender.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve hot.

Slow Cooker:
Add everything to the slow cooker. Cook low 6–7 hours or high 3–4 hours.


🍲 Classic Chicken Soup

Simple, soothing, and perfect for any day

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken (breasts or thighs)
  • 8 cups chicken broth
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 celery stalks, sliced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Β½ tsp dried thyme or parsley
  • Optional: noodles or rice

Instructions

  1. Add broth, chicken, veggies, garlic, and seasoning to a large pot.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 25–30 minutes.
  3. Remove chicken, shred it, and return it to the pot.
  4. Add noodles or rice (if using) and cook until tender.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve warm.
