Sausage bake

Here’s a hearty and easy Sausage Bake recipe — perfect for a family dinner or meal prep.


🌭 Sausage Bake

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 1 lb (450 g) sausages (pork, chicken, or your choice)
  • 2 cups diced potatoes (or baby potatoes, halved)
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or rosemary
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1/2 cup shredded cheese for topping

Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat oven

  • 400°F (200°C). Grease a baking dish or line with parchment paper.

2️⃣ Prepare ingredients

  • Toss potatoes, bell pepper, onion, and garlic with olive oil, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper.

3️⃣ Arrange in dish

  • Spread the vegetables in the baking dish.
  • Place sausages on top of the vegetable mixture.

4️⃣ Bake

  • Bake 30–40 minutes until sausages are cooked through (internal temperature 160°F / 71°C for pork) and vegetables are tender.
  • Optional: sprinkle shredded cheese over the top for the last 5–10 minutes of baking.

5️⃣ Serve

  • Serve hot, straight from the dish — great with mustard, ketchup, or a green salad.

Tips & Variations

  • Veggie swap: Add carrots, zucchini, or mushrooms.
  • Spicy version: Use chorizo or Italian sausages with chili flakes.
  • Sheet pan method: Spread everything on a rimmed baking sheet for easy cleanup.
  • Meal prep: Keeps well in the fridge for 3–4 days and reheats nicely.
