Here’s a classic and versatile Quiche recipe—perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a light dinner 🥧🍳

Classic Quiche

Ingredients (for 1 9-inch quiche)

For the crust (optional, or use store-bought):

  • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 3–4 tbsp cold water

For the filling:

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk or half-and-half
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or Gruyère)
  • 1 cup cooked vegetables, meats, or a combination (spinach, mushrooms, bacon, ham, etc.)
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Optional: pinch of nutmeg or herbs (thyme, parsley, chives)

Instructions

  1. Prepare crust
    • Mix flour and salt in a bowl. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    • Add cold water, 1 tbsp at a time, until dough forms.
    • Roll out and fit into a 9-inch pie pan. Chill 15 minutes.
    • Pre-bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes, then set aside.
  2. Prepare filling
    • In a bowl, whisk eggs and milk together.
    • Stir in cheese, cooked vegetables or meat, salt, pepper, and optional herbs.
  3. Assemble quiche
    • Pour filling into pre-baked crust.
  4. Bake
    • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 35–45 minutes, until the center is set and the top is lightly golden.
  5. Cool & serve
    • Let cool 5–10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Tips & Variations

  • Crustless quiche: Skip the crust for a low-carb option; bake in a greased pie dish.
  • Cheese options: Swiss, cheddar, feta, or goat cheese all work.
  • Veggie-loaded: Use spinach, zucchini, broccoli, or peppers for a healthier quiche.
  • Make ahead: Quiche can be made a day in advance and reheated.

I can also give a quick 30-minute crustless quiche recipe that’s perfect for busy mornings.
