Fried Potatoes and Onions (Skillet Style)
Ingredients
- 4–5 potatoes, peeled or scrubbed, sliced or diced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 3 tbsp oil or butter
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika (optional)
- Garlic powder or fresh garlic (optional)
Instructions
- Parboil potatoes (optional but recommended)
- Boil potatoes in salted water for 5–7 minutes until just tender. Drain well.
- Heat the skillet
- Heat oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook potatoes
- Add potatoes in a single layer. Let them cook undisturbed 4–5 minutes to crisp.
- Flip and continue cooking until golden.
- Add onions
- Add onions and seasonings. Cook 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until onions are soft and caramelized.
- Taste & serve
