Ah! A Potato Puff is a simple, fluffy, cheesy potato bake — popular as a side dish or brunch item 🥔🧀. Here’s a classic version:

🥔 Potato Puff (Cheesy Potato Bake)

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 4 cups mashed potatoes (leftover or freshly made)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or mix with mozzarella)
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan (optional, for topping)
  • Chopped chives or parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven:
    350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish or similar.
  2. Mix ingredients:
In a large bowl, combine mashed potatoes, eggs, cheese, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and melted butter. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. Transfer to dish:
Spread mixture evenly in prepared dish. Sprinkle Parmesan on top if using.
  4. Bake:
Bake 35–45 minutes until the top is golden and the center is set.
  5. Serve:
Let cool 5 minutes. Garnish with chives or parsley.

✅ Tips & Variations

  • Add sautéed onions, bacon, or ham for extra flavor
  • For a fluffier texture, whip the eggs and fold in gently
  • Can use frozen hash browns instead of mashed potatoes — adjust baking time slightly

If you want, I can also give a cheesy, layered potato puff with cream and extra cheese, perfect for holiday dinners or potlucks.

Do you want me to share that version?
