No-knead bread

Ahh, no-knead bread—the lazy baker’s dream with bakery-style results 😄 Crunchy crust, soft chewy inside, and basically zero effort. Let’s do the classic, foolproof version.


🍞 Easy No-Knead Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 cups (375 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp instant or active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups (360 ml) warm water

That’s it. No oil, no sugar.


Instructions

  1. Mix
    • In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, and yeast.
    • Add water and stir until a sticky, shaggy dough forms.
  2. Long rise
    • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a towel.
    • Let it rise at room temperature 12–18 hours (overnight is perfect).
    • Dough should be bubbly and doubled in size.
  3. Shape (no kneading!)
    • Lightly flour your hands and the counter.
    • Turn dough out and gently fold it over itself once or twice.
    • Shape into a rough ball. Let rest 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat
    • Put a Dutch oven with lid into the oven.
    • Preheat to 230°C / 450°F for 30 minutes.
  5. Bake
    • Carefully place dough into the hot Dutch oven (parchment helps).
    • Cover and bake 30 minutes.
    • Remove lid and bake 10–15 minutes more until deeply golden.
  6. Cool
    • Let cool at least 20 minutes before slicing (hardest part 😅).

✅ Tips for perfect no-knead bread

  • Dough should be sticky—don’t add extra flour
  • Longer rise = better flavor
  • If you don’t have a Dutch oven, you can use a heavy oven-safe pot with a lid

🌿 Easy Add-Ins

  • Garlic & herb: add 1 tsp garlic powder + herbs
  • Cheese: fold in 1/2 cup shredded cheese
  • Olives: add chopped olives during first mix
