Here’s a classic no-bake chocolate oat bars recipe 🍫🌾 — quick, chewy, and perfect when you don’t want to turn on the oven.


🍫 No-Bake Chocolate Oat Bars

Ingredients

  • ½ cup (1 stick) butter
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 cups sugar
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups quick oats
  • Optional add-ins: peanut butter, coconut, chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Cook the base
    In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter.
    Stir in milk, sugar, and cocoa powder.
    Bring to a gentle boil and boil 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  2. Remove from heat
    Stir in vanilla extract.
  3. Add oats
    Mix in oats (and any optional add-ins) until well combined.
  4. Set the bars
    Press mixture firmly into a greased or parchment-lined 9×13 pan.
  5. Cool
    Let set at room temperature or refrigerate 30–45 minutes until firm.
  6. Slice & serve

Tips for Perfect Bars

  • Boil exactly 1 minute—too short = soft, too long = crumbly
  • Use quick oats, not old-fashioned (better texture)
  • Press firmly into the pan so bars hold together

Popular Variations

  • Chocolate Peanut Butter: Stir in ½ cup peanut butter
  • Coconut Chocolate: Add ½ cup shredded coconut
  • Nutty: Add chopped walnuts or pecans
  • Healthier: Use honey or maple syrup (texture will be softer)
