Here’s a simple and rich Mushroom Sauce—creamy, savory, and perfect over steak, chicken, pasta, or veggies 🍄🤍


Creamy Mushroom Sauce

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 oz mushrooms (button, cremini, or mixed), sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef or chicken broth
  • ½–¾ cup heavy cream
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: fresh thyme or parsley

Instructions

  1. Sauté mushrooms
    • Heat butter and oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Add mushrooms and cook until golden brown and liquid evaporates, about 5–7 minutes.
  2. Add garlic & flour
    • Stir in garlic and cook 30 seconds.
    • Sprinkle flour over mushrooms, stirring 1 minute to remove raw taste.
  3. Add liquid
    • Slowly pour in broth, scraping up any browned bits.
    • Simmer 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Finish with cream
    • Stir in cream, simmer 2–3 minutes until sauce is rich and creamy.
    • Season with salt, pepper, and herbs.
  5. Serve
    • Spoon over steak, chicken, pasta, or roasted vegetables.

Tips & Variations

  • No cream: Use extra broth and finish with a pat of butter.
  • Garlic lovers: Add extra minced garlic or roasted garlic.
  • Wine flavor: Deglaze pan with white wine before adding broth.
  • Vegan: Use plant-based cream and vegetable broth.
