🍫☕ Mocha Layer Cake (Chocolate + Coffee Delight)

Ingredients (8–10 servings)
Cake:
- 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1½ cups sugar
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1½ tsp baking powder
- 1½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup hot coffee
Mocha Frosting:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3–4 cups powdered sugar
- 2–3 tbsp cocoa powder
- 2–3 tbsp strong brewed coffee (cooled)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven: 180°C / 350°F. Grease and flour two 8-inch cake pans.
- Make cake batter:
- Mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat until smooth.
- Slowly add hot coffee and mix until combined.
- Bake: Divide batter between pans. Bake 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
- Prepare frosting:
- Beat butter until creamy.
- Gradually add powdered sugar, cocoa, coffee, and vanilla. Adjust consistency with more sugar or coffee.
- Assemble cake:
- Place one layer on a plate. Spread frosting evenly.
- Top with the second layer and frost the top and sides.
- Optional garnish: Chocolate shavings, cocoa powder, or a dusting of coffee.

- Use strong coffee for a pronounced mocha flavor.
- Chill frosting slightly if it’s too soft to spread.
