Classic Meatloaf
Ingredients (serves 4–6)
- 1½ lbs ground beef (or mix beef/pork)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp ketchup (plus extra for topping)
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Optional: 1 tsp dried herbs (thyme, oregano, or parsley)
Instructions
- Preheat oven
- 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
- Mix meatloaf
- In a large bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, milk, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and optional herbs.
- Mix until just combined (don’t overmix).
- Shape & top
- Shape mixture into a loaf and place in the pan.
- Spread a thin layer of ketchup on top.
- Bake
- Bake 55–65 minutes until cooked through (internal temperature 160°F / 71°C).
- Rest & serve
