Here’s a classic, easy lasagna recipe 🍝
Perfect if you want something comforting and filling.

Classic Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef or ground turkey (optional to make it vegetarian)
  • 1 jar (about 24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1½–2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan
  • 1 egg (optional, makes it firmer)
  • 1–2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt, pepper, Italian seasoning

Steps

  1. Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Make the sauce:
    • Brown the meat in a pan (skip if vegetarian).
    • Add garlic, then stir in marinara sauce. Simmer 5–10 minutes.
  3. Ricotta mix:
    • In a bowl, mix ricotta, egg (optional), a little salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Assemble (in a baking dish):
    • Layer 1: Sauce
    • Layer 2: Noodles
    • Layer 3: Ricotta mixture
    • Layer 4: Mozzarella
    • Repeat layers, finishing with sauce + mozzarella + Parmesan.
  5. Bake:
    • Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30 minutes.
    • Uncover and bake 10–15 more minutes until bubbly.
  6. Rest: Let it sit 10 minutes before cutting.

Easy Variations

  • Vegetarian: Add spinach, mushrooms, or zucchini.
  • Extra cheesy: Add more mozzarella or a layer of provolone.
  • No-boil noodles: Use oven-ready noodles and add a little extra sauce.
