Here’s a classic, easy homemade fudge recipe—smooth, rich, and perfect for beginners 🍫

Classic Chocolate Fudge

Makes about an 8×8 pan

Ingredients

  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter
  • ⅔ cup evaporated milk
  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 7 oz marshmallow crème
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare pan
    • Line an 8×8-inch pan with foil or parchment. Lightly butter.
  2. Cook sugar mixture
    • In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, butter, and evaporated milk.
    • Bring to a rolling boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
    • Boil exactly 4–5 minutes, continuing to stir.
  3. Add chocolate
    • Remove from heat.
    • Stir in chocolate chips until melted.
    • Add marshmallow crème, vanilla, and salt. Mix until smooth.
  4. Set the fudge
    • Pour into prepared pan.
    • Let cool at room temperature 2–3 hours or refrigerate until firm.
  5. Cut & serve
    • Lift out, cut into squares.

Easy Variations

  • Peanut butter fudge: swirl ½ cup peanut butter on top
  • Nut fudge: stir in 1 cup chopped nuts
  • Rocky road: add mini marshmallows & nuts
  • Cookies & cream: stir in crushed chocolate sandwich cookies

Tips for Perfect Fudge

  • Use a heavy-bottom pan to avoid scorching.
  • Stir constantly during boiling.
  • Measure boil time carefully—this affects texture.
