🍔 Hamburger Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups cooked egg noodles or elbow macaroni
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • ½ tsp paprika or Italian seasoning

Optional add-ins

  • Frozen peas or corn
  • Diced bell peppers
  • Mushrooms
  • Crushed crackers or breadcrumbs (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. Cook beef
    Brown ground beef with onion and garlic. Drain excess fat. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Mix casserole
    In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta, beef mixture, soup, milk, and 1 cup cheese.
  4. Assemble
    Spread mixture into baking dish. Top with remaining cheese.
    (Optional: sprinkle breadcrumbs or crackers on top.)
  5. Bake
    Bake uncovered 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  6. Rest & serve
    Let sit 5 minutes before serving.

  • Cheeseburger casserole: Add ketchup & mustard to the beef
  • Taco casserole: Use taco seasoning + Mexican cheese
  • Healthy version: Use ground turkey + whole-wheat pasta
  • Creamy deluxe: Add sour cream or cream cheese
