Ground beef and potatoes

Posted on December 29, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a simple and hearty Ground Beef and Potatoes recipe 🥩🥔—great for an easy dinner.

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup beef broth or water
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the beef
    • In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp oil over medium heat.
    • Add ground beef, onion, and garlic. Cook until beef is browned and onion is softened.
    • Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Add potatoes
    • Add diced potatoes to the skillet. Stir to combine with beef mixture.
  3. Season & simmer
    • Sprinkle paprika, salt, and pepper.
    • Pour in beef broth or water. Cover and simmer 15–20 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.
  4. Finish & serve
    • Adjust seasoning as needed.
    • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Tips & Variations

  • Cheesy version: sprinkle shredded cheese over the top before serving.
  • Vegetable addition: add carrots, peas, or bell peppers for more color and nutrition.
  • Casserole twist: transfer mixture to a baking dish, top with mashed potatoes, and bake for a shepherd’s pie style dish.
  • Spicy kick: add chili powder or hot sauce.

I can also give a slow-cooker version or a one-pan skillet version with a crispy top if you want.
