Ground beef

Posted on December 30, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a versatile guide to cooking ground beef—perfect for quick meals, tacos, casseroles, or pasta dishes 🥩

Basic Cooked Ground Beef

Ingredients (1 lb / 450 g)

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 for juiciness, 90/10 for lean)
  • 1 tbsp oil (optional, for lean beef)
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, or other spices

Instructions

  1. Heat pan
    • Medium-high heat. Add oil if using lean beef.
  2. Cook beef
    • Add ground beef, break it apart with a spatula.
    • Cook 7–10 minutes until fully browned.
  3. Drain fat
    • If needed, drain excess fat to avoid greasiness.
  4. Season
    • Add salt, pepper, and any other spices or sauces.
    • Stir well and cook 1–2 minutes more.

Flavor Variations

  • Taco-style: Add chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic, and onion. Serve with tortillas.
  • Italian-style: Add garlic, onion, oregano, and tomato sauce for pasta or lasagna.
  • Asian-style: Add soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil.
  • Burger-style: Season simply with salt and pepper; form into patties.

Tips

  • Don’t overcrowd the pan—this helps beef brown instead of steam.
  • Season after browning for best flavor.
  • Mix-ins like diced onions, peppers, or mushrooms can be added while cooking.

If you want, I can give a quick weeknight ground beef skillet, a creamy ground beef pasta, or a hearty ground beef stew recipe next.
