Classic Garlic Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 French baguette or Italian bread loaf
  • 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Optional: 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the garlic butter
    • In a small bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, and salt (and Parmesan if using).
  3. Slice the bread
    • Slice the baguette in half lengthwise.
    • Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over each half.
  4. Bake
    • Place the bread halves on a baking sheet, buttered side up.
    • Bake 10–15 minutes until the edges are golden and the butter is melted.
    • Optional: broil 1–2 minutes for extra crispiness—watch closely to avoid burning.
  5. Serve
    • Slice and serve warm.
