Fudge brownies

Here’s a classic, ultra-fudgy brownie recipe 🍫—rich, chocolatey, and perfectly dense.


Ingredients (9×9-inch pan)

  • ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup (150 g) sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ⅓ cup (35 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup (65 g) all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • Optional: ½ cup chocolate chips or chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×9-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter in a small saucepan or microwave; let cool slightly.
  3. Mix wet ingredients:
    • Stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Add dry ingredients:
    • Stir in cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined.
    • Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using.
  5. Bake:
    • Pour batter into pan and bake 20–25 minutes.
    • A toothpick in the center should come out slightly fudgy (not wet).
  6. Cool & slice:
    • Let brownies cool completely for the fudgiest texture, then cut into squares.

Tips & Variations

  • Extra fudgy: Reduce flour to ⅓ cup.
  • Chewy top layer: Use white sugar only; for softer, add a bit of brown sugar.
  • Flavor boost: Add a pinch of espresso powder or cinnamon.
  • Chocolate lovers: Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top before baking.
