  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp mustard (optional)
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak bread
    • Soak bread in milk until soft. Squeeze out excess liquid.
  2. Mix meat
    • In a large bowl, combine ground meat, soaked bread, onion, egg, mustard, salt, pepper, and paprika.
    • Mix until just combined — avoid overmixing to keep patties tender.
  3. Shape patties
    • Divide mixture into 6–8 equal portions and shape into oval or round patties, about ½–¾ inch thick.
  4. Fry
    • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
    • Fry patties 4–5 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
    • Drain on paper towels if needed.
  5. Serve
    • Serve hot with mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, pickles, or gravy.
