Fried halloumi cheese

Here’s a simple, delicious way to fry halloumi cheese—crispy outside, squeaky-soft inside 🧀🔥


Pan-Fried Halloumi

Ingredients

  • 8 oz halloumi cheese
  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • Optional: lemon wedges, fresh herbs (mint, parsley), chili flakes

Instructions

  1. Prep the cheese
    • Slice halloumi into ½-inch thick slices. Pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture (helps it brown nicely).
  2. Heat the pan
    • Use a nonstick or cast-iron skillet. Heat oil over medium heat.
  3. Fry
    • Place halloumi slices in the pan. Fry 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Don’t overcrowd the pan.
  4. Serve
    • Serve immediately while warm and slightly soft inside.
    • Optional: squeeze fresh lemon juice, sprinkle chili flakes or chopped herbs.
