Fried chicken

Here’s a quick, no-nonsense fried chicken recipe 🍗


Easy Fried Chicken

Ingredients

  • 2–3 lb chicken pieces
  • 2 cups buttermilk (or milk + 1 tbsp vinegar)
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Oil for frying

Steps

  1. Soak chicken in buttermilk with salt & pepper for 1–24 hours.
  2. Mix flour + spices in a bowl.
  3. Dredge chicken in seasoned flour (double-dip for extra crunch).
  4. Heat oil to 350°F / 175°C.
  5. Fry in batches, 12–15 min, turning until golden and cooked (165°F inside).
  6. Drain & rest 5 minutes. Serve hot.

Want it better?

  • 🔥 Add cayenne or hot sauce to the soak
  • 🍯 Drizzle with honey or hot honey
  • 🧄 Add garlic powder & onion powder to flour
