Here’s a simple, reliable fish fillet recipe that works with almost any white fish (bream, cod, tilapia, haddock, snapper) 🐟


🍋 Pan-Seared Fish Fillet (Quick & Easy)

Ingredients (Serves 2)

  • 2 fish fillets (about 5–6 oz each)
  • Salt & black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 lemon (juice + wedges)
  • Fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Dry & season:
    Pat fillets very dry. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat pan:
    Heat olive oil in a non-stick or stainless skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Cook fish:
    Place fish presentation-side down first.
    Cook 3–4 minutes without moving until golden.
  4. Flip & finish:
    Flip gently. Add butter and garlic.
    Spoon butter over fish and cook 2–3 minutes more.
  5. Finish:
    Squeeze lemon juice over the fish. Garnish with parsley.

✅ Tips for Perfect Fish

  • If it sticks, it’s not ready to flip
  • Fish is done when it flakes easily and is opaque
  • Thicker fillets may need an extra minute

  • Crispy: Lightly dust fish with flour before cooking
  • Mediterranean: Add capers & cherry tomatoes
  • Asian-style: Finish with soy sauce & sesame oil
  • Oven-baked: 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes
