Here’s a festive and moist Eggnog Bread recipe—perfect for the holidays or anytime you want a sweet, spiced treat 🍞🥚🎄

Eggnog Bread

Ingredients (makes 1 loaf)

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ½ tsp ground allspice (optional)
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup eggnog

Optional glaze:

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tbsp milk or eggnog
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix dry ingredients
    • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice.
  3. Cream butter & sugar
    • In a separate bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
    • Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Combine with eggnog
    • Alternately add dry ingredients and eggnog to the butter mixture, starting and ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  5. Bake
    • Pour batter into prepared pan.
    • Bake 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool & glaze
    • Let bread cool in the pan 10 minutes, then remove to a wire rack.
    • If using glaze: mix powdered sugar, milk/eggnog, and vanilla; drizzle over cooled bread.

Tips & Variations

  • Spices: Increase nutmeg or add ginger and cloves for a richer holiday flavor.
  • Add-ins: Mix in ½ cup raisins, dried cranberries, or chopped nuts.
  • Extra moist: Replace 2–3 tbsp of butter with sour cream or yogurt.
  • Mini loaves or muffins: Bake 20–25 minutes for muffins or 35–40 minutes for mini loaves.

I can also give a quick eggnog bread recipe in a loaf pan that’s ready in under an hour if you want.
