Classic Deviled Eggs

Ingredients (makes 6 eggs / 12 halves)

  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon mustard (yellow or Dijon)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Paprika (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil the eggs:
    • Place eggs in a pot, cover with water, bring to a boil.
    • Turn off heat, cover, and let sit 10–12 minutes.
    • Cool in cold water, then peel.
  2. Prepare filling:
    • Slice eggs in half lengthwise.
    • Remove yolks and mash in a bowl.
    • Mix yolks with mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Fill the eggs:
    • Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg whites.
  4. Garnish:
    • Sprinkle paprika on top. Optional: chopped chives or a tiny bit of hot sauce.

Variations

  • Garlic deviled eggs: Add a pinch of garlic powder or roasted garlic.
  • Spicy: Mix a little sriracha or cayenne pepper into the yolks.
  • Herby: Add finely chopped parsley, dill, or chives.
