🥩 Cutlets (Crispy & Tender Meat Patties)

Cutlets are breaded, pan-fried or baked patties made from meat, vegetables, or a mixture—crispy outside, juicy inside.


Ingredients (4 servings, 8–10 cutlets)

For the filling:

  • 500 g (1 lb) ground meat (chicken, beef, or pork) OR mashed vegetables/potatoes
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1–2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp herbs (parsley, thyme, or oregano)
  • Optional: ½ cup grated cheese

For coating:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1–2 cups breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare filling:
    • In a bowl, mix ground meat or vegetables with onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and herbs.
    • Shape mixture into oval or round patties.
  2. Coat cutlets:
    • Dredge each cutlet in flour → dip in beaten eggs → coat with breadcrumbs.
  3. Cook cutlets:
    • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
    • Fry cutlets 3–5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Serve:
    • Serve hot with dipping sauce, mashed potatoes, or salad.

Tips

  • For extra crisp, double-coat with egg and breadcrumbs.
  • Can bake at 200°C / 400°F for 15–20 minutes for a healthier version.
  • Add spices like paprika or chili powder to breadcrumbs for more flavor.
