Creamy oven milk dessert

Here’s a simple, old-fashioned Creamy Oven Milk Dessert—soft, custardy, and lightly sweet 🍮
(It’s similar to baked milk pudding or milk custard.)

🥛 Creamy Oven Milk Dessert

Ingredients

  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter (melted)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: nutmeg or cinnamon for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven
    • 325°F (165°C).
    • Lightly butter a baking dish (8×8 or similar).
  2. Mix Custard
    • Whisk eggs and sugar until smooth.
    • Slowly whisk in milk.
    • Add melted butter, vanilla, and salt.
  3. Bake
    • Pour mixture into prepared dish.
    • Sprinkle lightly with nutmeg or cinnamon.
    • Place dish in a larger pan and add hot water halfway up the sides (water bath).
  4. Cook
    • Bake 45–55 minutes, until center is just set and slightly jiggly.
  5. Cool & Serve
    • Let cool slightly before serving warm, or chill for a firmer texture.

Tips

  • Don’t overbake or it will curdle.
  • Whole milk gives the creamiest texture.
  • Serve plain or with fruit, honey, or caramel drizzle.
