Chocolate chip cookie

Here’s a classic Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe 🍪
Soft, chewy, and loaded with chocolate chips.


Ingredients (makes ~24 cookies)

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • 375°F (190°C).
    • Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Mix wet ingredients
    • In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
    • Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  3. Mix dry ingredients
    • In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Combine
    • Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients.
    • Stir in chocolate chips.
  5. Portion cookies
    • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space between cookies.
  6. Bake
    • Bake 9–11 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
    • Let cookies cool on baking sheet 2–3 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Tips

  • For chewier cookies, slightly underbake by 1–2 minutes.
  • Use room temperature butter for better texture.
  • Can add nuts or white chocolate chips for variation.
  • Chill dough for 30 minutes before baking for thicker cookies.
