Chocolate chip cookie

Here’s a classic Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe 🍪


Ingredients (makes ~24 cookies)

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Mix wet ingredients
    • Cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
    • Beat in eggs, one at a time, then add vanilla.
  3. Mix dry ingredients
    • In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
    • Gradually mix into wet ingredients until just combined.
  4. Add chocolate chips
    Fold in chocolate chips evenly.
  5. Shape cookies
    Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake
    Bake 9–11 minutes until edges are golden but centers are still soft.
  7. Cool
    Let cookies cool 2–3 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.

Tips

  • For chewier cookies, slightly underbake and let them set on the baking sheet.
  • Can add nuts, white chocolate chips, or a sprinkle of sea salt on top for extra flavor.
  • For softer cookies, use more brown sugar than white sugar.
