Chicken marsala

Chicken Marsala 🍗🍄

Chicken Marsala is a classic Italian-American dish with tender chicken in a rich mushroom and wine sauce made with Marsala wine.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless chicken breasts
  • Salt and black pepper
  • ½ cup flour (for coating)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup sliced Mushroom
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • ¾ cup Marsala wine
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • Optional: ¼ cup cream
  • Fresh parsley

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the chicken

  • Slice chicken breasts in half horizontally to make thin cutlets.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Lightly coat in flour.

2️⃣ Sear the chicken

  • Heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a pan over medium-high heat.
  • Cook chicken 3–4 minutes per side until golden.
  • Remove and set aside.

3️⃣ Cook the mushrooms

  • In the same pan add remaining butter.
  • Add mushrooms and cook 5 minutes until browned.
  • Stir in garlic.

4️⃣ Make the sauce

  • Pour in Marsala wine and chicken broth.
  • Simmer 4–5 minutes to reduce.

5️⃣ Finish

  • Return chicken to the pan.
  • Cook 3–4 minutes until sauce thickens.
  • Add cream if you want a richer sauce.

Serve with

  • Pasta 🍝
  • Mashed potatoes 🥔
  • Rice
  • Steamed vegetables
