Here’s a simple, cheesy bread roll recipe 🧀🥖 — soft, savory, and perfect as a snack or side.


Cheese Rolls

Ingredients (makes 8–10 rolls)

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp instant yeast
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite)
  • 1 egg (optional, for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Activate yeast: Mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Make dough: In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and melted butter. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead: Knead 5–7 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise 1 hour, or until doubled.
  4. Shape rolls: Punch down dough, divide into 8–10 pieces. Flatten each piece slightly, place a little cheese in the center, and fold/seal into a ball.
  5. Second rise: Place rolls on a greased baking tray, cover, and let rise 20–30 minutes.
  6. Egg wash (optional): Brush tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  7. Bake: Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–20 minutes, until golden and cheese is melted.
  8. Cool slightly and enjoy warm.

Variations

  • Extra cheesy: Sprinkle more cheese on top before baking.
  • Herb flavor: Add garlic powder, rosemary, or thyme to the dough.
  • Quick version: Use pre-made biscuit dough and just add cheese inside.
