Caramel Chocolate Crunch Bars

Ingredients

Base & Crunch

  • 2 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 1 cup crushed graham crackers (optional, adds extra crunch)
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • ¼ cup sugar

Caramel Layer

  • 1 cup caramel candies or store-bought soft caramels
  • 2–3 tbsp heavy cream or milk

Chocolate Layer

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp butter (optional, for shine and smoothness)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the base
    • Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
    • Mix crispy rice cereal, graham crackers, melted butter, and sugar.
    • Press mixture evenly into the pan.
  2. Add caramel layer
    • Melt caramel candies with cream in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth.
    • Pour over the cereal base and spread evenly.
    • Let cool slightly.
  3. Add chocolate layer
    • Melt chocolate chips (with butter if using) in a microwave or double boiler.
    • Pour over caramel layer and smooth with a spatula.
  4. Chill & set
    • Refrigerate at least 1–2 hours until firm.
  5. Serve
    • Lift from pan using parchment paper and cut into bars.
