Here’s a straightforward and delicious recipe for Cabbage and Ground Beef Stew in a Slow Cooker:


Slow Cooker Cabbage and Ground Beef Stew

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 small head of cabbage, chopped (about 4 cups)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz / 400 g) diced tomatoes (with juice)
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced (optional)
  • 2 cups beef broth (or water)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried thyme (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add diced onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  3. Transfer the beef mixture to the slow cooker.
  4. Add chopped cabbage, diced tomatoes, potatoes (if using), beef broth, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the cabbage and potatoes are tender.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning before serving.

This stew is comforting, hearty, and perfect for a cozy meal. You can serve it alone or with crusty bread.
