Here’s a classic Beef Tips recipe 🥩—tender, savory, and perfect over rice, noodles, or mashed potatoes.


Beef Tips with Gravy

Ingredients (4 servings)

  • 1½ lbs beef tips or stew meat
  • Salt & black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp soy sauce (optional)
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or onion soup mix (optional)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water

Instructions

Stovetop

  1. Season beef with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat oil in a deep skillet; brown beef on all sides.
  3. Add onion and garlic; cook until softened.
  4. Pour in broth, Worcestershire, and seasonings.
  5. Cover and simmer 45–60 minutes until tender.
  6. Stir in cornstarch slurry; simmer until gravy thickens.

Slow Cooker

  • Add all ingredients except cornstarch.
  • Cook LOW 6–8 hours or HIGH 3–4 hours.
  • Thicken gravy at the end with cornstarch slurry.

Tips & Variations

  • Extra rich: Add mushrooms or a splash of cream at the end.
  • Fast version: Use sirloin tips and cook only 20–25 minutes.
  • Flavor boost: Add onion soup mix or a splash of red wine.
  • Serve with: Rice, egg noodles, mashed potatoes, or biscuits.
