🍌 Easy Banana Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup (115 g) melted butter (or oil)
  • 3/4 cup sugar (white, brown, or half & half)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups (190 g) all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • 175°C (350°F). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. Mix wet ingredients
    • In a bowl, mix mashed bananas and melted butter.
    • Stir in sugar, egg, and vanilla.
  3. Add dry ingredients
    • Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture.
    • Stir in flour just until combined (don’t overmix).
  4. Bake
    • Pour batter into pan.
    • Bake 50–60 minutes, until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  5. Cool
    • Let cool 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a rack.

  • Chocolate chips: 1/2 cup
  • Walnuts or pecans: 1/2 cup
  • Cinnamon: 1 tsp
  • Peanut butter swirl: drop spoonfuls and swirl gently

  • The spottier the bananas, the better
  • Don’t overmix—lumps are okay
  • If the top browns too fast, tent loosely with foil
